Where the land has always known how to welcome.

At the quiet end of Tranquility Road in Purcellville sits a 200-year-old farm estate — an estate winery, historic venues, and the kind of setting that photographs itself. Whatever brings you here, the farm is ready.

The Estate

One road.
One estate.
Everything here.

Tranquility Farm began as a 600-acre Quaker farm in 1807, built by David Lovett. The Federal-style fieldstone manor, antique bank barn, stone smokehouse and springhouse, and Loudoun County's tallest silo at 130 feet all survive intact — faithfully restored, in active daily use.

Today the estate is an event venue, working winery, and private accommodation on the same grounds. Vines first planted in 2007 now anchor two distinct wine labels, produced and poured on the land where fox hunters once rode.

David Lovett builds the farm

Quaker land developer David Lovett establishes the farm on 600 acres. The Federal-style fieldstone manor — built by skilled stone masons — survives intact with original plaster crown molding, heart pine floors, and a quartz formation on the exterior that catches the solstice sun at precisely 7am every summer.

Piedmont Fox Hounds ride these fields

The Piedmont Fox Hounds — founded in 1840, the oldest organised fox hunt in the United States — covered territory that included these fields. The farm housed thoroughbred racehorses alongside dairy cattle. The landmark 130-foot silo was built during the dairy era, when Purcellville farms shipped product by rail to Washington D.C.

Barbara Graham — a celebrated racehorse trainer who grew up at Tranquility Farm — hunted here with her friend Jackie Kennedy Onassis. "They hunted side by side in the mornings and then drove around the country lanes." — Vicky Moon, The Private Passion of Jackie Kennedy Onassis (2005).

A new chapter, grounded in the old

Historic structures preserved. The Glass Manor built beside the landmark silo in 2024. An estate winery established, producing two wine labels from Loudoun County terroir — Draksha sparkling wines and Otium still wines.

The Winery

One estate.
Two wines.
One philosophy.

The estate winery produces two distinct labels — each with its own identity, its own story, and its own reason for existing. Vines first planted in 2007 now yield both a sparkling program and an artisanal still wine collection, poured on the same ground they were grown.

Reservations for estate tastings are available through Tock. Both the Draksha and Otium ranges are poured together — the full picture of what this estate makes.

Sparkling Wines
DRAKSHA
Modern · Refined · Celebratory

Named for the Sanskrit root of the grapevine, Draksha is traditional method sparkling wine — built for the moment the room falls quiet before the toast. Three wines in the current range: Sparkling Grüner Veltliner, Blanc de Blancs, and Brut Rosé. A dedicated sparkling vineyard was planted on the estate in 2022; estate-grown releases are coming.

Blanc de Blancs · Traditional Method · Extended Lees
Brut Rosé · Cabernet Franc · Pinot Noir
Still Wines
OTIUM
Classic · Expressive · Artisanal

From the Latin for leisured contemplation — Otium still wines for evenings that extend themselves. Whites lead with Hail Medley, the estate's 2023 co-fermented field blend, followed by Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay, and Pinot Gris. Reds include the Draksha Red Blend 2022 closing release and the coming Tranquility Signature Red Blend from the 2025 harvest.
